Buying a Domain

For our blog we need a domain name and a place where the blog will be hosted.

A domain name¹ is the adress, like www.myblog.com. We need to buy and register a domain with a domain registrar.

There are many domain registrars and most of them will also offer hosting and many other service like email etc.

A host will rent out space on a server to store the files and data for the blog. We will use Cloudflare as host for our blog. See the next part.
